International Postgraduate Research Conference and Summer School in Education, Humanities and Social Sciences 2014

The 4th International Postgraduate Research Conference and Summer School in Education, Humanities and Social Sciences for Hong Kong and the Greater China Region will be tentatively held in The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) on 4 – 6 July 2014.
With such an aim to provide additional and complementary training in academic writing as well as to further cultivate a research environment for postgraduate students and encourage interaction among postgraduate students in the region, the Research Conference and Summer School for Postgraduate Students has been organized yearly since 2011 and will be held in the summer of 2014 again.
The aim of the research conference is to provide a platform for postgraduate students to present, interact and exchange ideas, research findings and difficulties encountered with other students; they will also receive expert feedback on their research by international scholars and those from the participating institutions. Postgraduate students from education, humanities, and social sciences will present their research in themed panels during the conference.
The theme of summer school 2014 is to enhance postgraduate students’ research skills and abilities in academic writing. A series of workshops focusing on skills for writing thesis and journal articles as well as advanced research methods will be delivered by international distinguished scholars who understand very well the problems encountered by Asian students.
